The measurement parameters for each module, such as bandwidth, average, triggering, etc, can be set independently.



FFT analysis module

Functions for FFT analysis:
Time waveform, auto power spectrum,   complex spectrum, cross power spectrum, FRF, coherence cepstrum, power spectra density, envelope spectrum, envelope waveform, overall level and rotation speed.
Trigger for FFT analysis: Trigger source, trigger slope, trigger level, trigger delay and peak trigger.
Number of reference channels: Single (SIMO) or multiple reference channels (MIMO)
Band & resolution for FFT analysis: Select from 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency band and 100 to 12800 lines of resolution with real-time zoom FFT.
Average for FFT analysis: Spectral or time domain average; linear, exponential average or peak hold; overlap percentage: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or max.; average number: from 1 to 5,000 times selectable; overload rejection and preview of waveform.
Signal map for FFT analysis: Map functions: time waveform, auto power spectrum, complex spectrum and cross spectrum; Measurement controls: free run, armed by time step or armed by rpm step; Display signal map in waterfall plot or intensity map.
Multiple analyses: Run up to 3 real-time FFT measurements at the same time. The parameters of each measurement can be set independently.


Order Tracking module
Functions for Order Tracking analysis: order trace, order spectrum, spectral map, orbit, filtered orbit, orbit and waveform, shaft centerline, DC gap and RPM profile. 
Order resolution: 1/2 order, 1/4 order, 1/8 order or 1/16 order
Max order: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 400, or 800 order
Rotation speed: 30 to 240,000 rpm
Types of average: Off, linear, exponential and peak hold
Overlap level: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and max
Trigger method for tachometer channel: time waveform or spectrum
Measurement control: Time step, RPM step (run up, coast down or up and down) or both

Raw Signal Recorder
Novian can work as a digital data recorder and throughput the raw data continuously to a hard drive.
The raw data file can be replayed and conduct various analysis accordingly.

Real-time analysis
Conduct real-time measurements such as; multiple FFT’s, Order Tracking, and Octave measurements with wide range of functionality and analysis capability.
Novian dynamic signal analyzer conducts multiple FFT, Octave, Order Tracking and raw signal recorder modules at the same time. 


FFT analysis module: 

FFT module provides general spectral analysis on Fourier Transform base.  It provides up to 14 measurement functions, complete and sufficient for supporting various sound and vibration analysis. Users can define and display alarm or severity levels on selected bands, showing the test results with GO/NG indicators on the plots.  It also supports continuous spectrum measurements during a start-up or coast-down process of machines, and display the result on 3D waterfall or intensity plots. 

 FFT module: FRF measurements for modal testing Envelope spectrum for analyzing bearing fault frequencies.

Display of FRF functions in Accelerance, Mobility or Compliance plots to investigate the structure’s dynamic stiffness.   custom band limit for sound and vibration quality testing  

Octave spectrum analysis module (optional)
Octave module utilizes parallel time domain filters to generate octave spectrum with selectable resolutions of Octave, 1/3 Octave or 1/12 Octave.
Conforming to IEC 61260 and IEC 61672, this module is suitable for evaluating the sound or vibration severity of different standards. With user-defined weighting functions, it can conduct specific measurements, such as ISO 6954 (vibration on ships), ISO 8041 and ISO 2631 (human vibration) etc. Another application example is evaluating the floor vibration in high-tech factories.  By showing the VC curve on the spectrum plot, the user can tell the level of vibration grade right after the measurements.

Computed Order Tracking module (optional)
The computed order tracking program is designed to measure sound and vibration on varying speed machines.  It performs digital resampling algorithm to make the spectral resolutions be the same at different rotation speeds. Typical applications for this software module are NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) testing of vehicles or advanced vibration analysis of turbine machines.  It calculates the order spectrum, order traces, filtered or unfiltered orbits, gap reading and centerline of a shaft accurately during a start-up or coast-down process.  The user can input geometric position(s) of the vibration sensors to display orbit and shaft centerline motion, which relates to the realistic behavior of a turbine machine.

Raw data recording
Novian can work as a digital raw signal recorder.  It measures and records raw data to your hard disk continuously at the same time when you perform real-time monitoring of time waveforms or spectrums.


Playback analysis
Replay the previously saved raw data file(s) as if it were a live reading.  Now you can recreate the event as if you were on-site and perform playback analysis of the saved data file.

Conduct real-time analysis and record the raw data into the hard disk at the same time for the backup of important data.

Data viewing, processing and report

Function generator
Use Novian’s built in function generator to create various signals like sine waves, square waves, ramp, pulse, random or chirp signals.  These signals created by the function generator can be used through the output devices.
